COMING SPRING 2020
YOU AND ME,
NAKED BOY
THE STORY
After a failed robbery, Jørn outruns the police, finding shelter under a flock of sheep in rural Sweden. There he discovers Goran, a Serbian expat, and his complex plan to purposefully go to prison. With a dead man between them and the police only meters away, the two must execute a plan to cross into Norway all while under a sea of wool. An absurdist, dark comedy.
FROM ROSE
You and Me, Naked Boy is my baby, and I am so proud and excited to show her off to the world. It has taken me a long, tiring, and extremely nurturing period of time to tell this story in the way I felt it must be, forcing me to grapple with one overarching question: how can one balance the true absurdity and depth of life?
This experience has been a discovery for me, a tough but rewarding one, I have deeply fallen in love with the characters I’ve crafted, and I’m hoping that you all will too. The film, though conceptually and visually comedic, is at its root an exploration of the humanity we all share in the brief and unconventional moments we may meet each other. No matter who we are, where we’re from, or what we’re doing, there is always room to connect— sometimes it happens profoundly, in a flash, and then it sticks with us forever. It is at these brief moments in our life that time slows down, lessons are learned, and then carried with us as memories and mangled stories forever.
Jørn and Goran are thrust into an incredibly surreal and harrowing situation and through it, they find something extraordinarily meaningful in each other. It is a moment between them that only exist as it did in the present and that, in effect, makes their connection eternally beautiful.
